2011 has been a great year.
Have great friends who have always been there for me. graduated with a diploma ( & managed to get the best studentship i still dunno how it could happen ). got a job. went Bali. quit my job within 2 months. got a new job while still working in my ex company. interview for BA. Got accepted in BA (hons) spatial design. quit my job sadly. start my degree course. still doing my degree course.
& so, a year pass by in a blink of an eye (like literally). I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my final year, with such a great class of exhibition-ists. (Y) Best classmates one could ever ask for. & just so you guys know, i really miss you all. BA is definitely not the same as my 3rd year classmates. So much love for you guys. The joy, the laughter, & sometimes.. the conflicts.
Graduating as been a… shock. Not as in I’m shocked that I graduated, but the shock of having to find a job, and having to suddenly, just grow up. ): It’s definitely not fun at all. & the mistake of accepting a job which turns out to be a disaster simply because I hate doing events. Colleages were great and we were like a family. But the constant pressure of doing something that I absolutely hated (exhibition booths) makes me sick of the job, and dread going to work every single day. So eventually, after a month of careful thinking, I left the company and accepted another job offer.
Being a designer, is not as glamorous as everybody think it is. We work all round the clock, doing OT without any OT pay, sometimes, or can I say often, we don’t get enough sleep as we are up in the middle of the night, supervising the set ups while the malls are closed. However, I believe that as long as we are doing something that we love doing, all this, are worth it. ;)
And seriously, people should stop judging those who went to Art institute after O levels. We, DO NOT choose to study arts because we fail maths or science. Yes, minority of us took arts simply because no other JC or poly accept us. BUT MAJORITY OF US, chose to study Arts because we love Arts. Okay? Stop judging. You think it’s easy to study Arts? Why not YOU take the interview, & go through the entrance test.
Okay, so I hope that 2012 will be as great as 2011.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! ;0
